Michelle {my sister in law} had the baby! It went exactly as I explained to Christian that it might - given all of her updates - and ended in a Cesarean. I’m super bummed for her on that regard, but I’m thankful they’re both healthy. 7 lbs, 4 oz, and born today, the 24th.

I’m so thrilled, he’s finally here! Welcome to the world, little nephew and welcome to the club, Sissy! <3 <3 <3

Earth Day - 2006
In a coincidence that would only happen in my own life. It turns out that two of my sister in laws are giving birth to boys today; Christian’s sister has been laboring since 7am, and J’s sister just gave birth a few minutes ago. Plot twists, man.
Michelle updated hours ago. She was at 5, but it took her almost 12 hours to get there and she’d just had an epidural. Despite my lack of real world knowledge on labor and birth, Christian and I have been glued to our phones in hopes that she doesn’t end up with a Cesarean in case there’s a failure to progress. If she does, I’m going to have to call around and pull in some favors from my WA friends, she has minimal support up there.
My mother will be here butt early in the morning, and though most of everything is taken care of I left some last bits until the last minute. I was very stressed about it earlier today, but I took a few minutes and meditated and I feel like I can handle anything she picks up to throw at me. Not literally of course, not even my mother is allowed to assault me, but you know what I mean. I most likely won’t be on much until she settles in.
The kids are not AS wild about plant life as they are about animals, FYI. The lesson did not go as swimmingly as I’d hoped. If we’d planted something I may have salvaged it, but remember last year’s terrariums? Hahaha, no. It went though, and afterward we covered the regulars; math, reading, Yoga. Someone hid their Storytime Yoga DVD so we did a simple sun salutation a few times and then Shavasana for 10 minutes. Thaddeus is the worst at relaxing.
I don’t know how you parents of children with close birthdays do it. I’m weeping over Mercutio’s upcoming 6th, and when it hits again that Thaddeus’ 1st is 3 days later, I’m an utter disaster.

I love all y’all

But there are 3 potty learning how-to questions in my inbox that I’m not answering.

I hate this topic with a passion that burns deeper and truer than my love for cookies. I’m very serious about not giving advice on it because I know I have a lot to learn about parenting, but I am a million times confident in my potty learning expertise at this point and nooooo one ever liiiiistens. I’ve been that, done there, all that jazz hands and then some.

So, here is a thing I wrote a million years ago when Severus was learning, that I’ve updated for more longwindedness - and that is the extent of my contribution to the subject. <3

Quickie!

 • HOLY CRAP, INTERNET! Never again crash! I figured I’d just get the cleaning done early, since I didn’t want to do some school stuff, quit, and restart.
 • Yesterday since Mom II was sick, the boys and I threw a quick lesson down about Earth Day; conservation efforts, why it’s important to care about the Earth and all the ways we can do it. We reviewed Mercutio’s band-aid idea, discussed wildlife preservation efforts and their benefits in comparison to places like Sea World that claim to be in the education game {I’m not saying they haven’t been beneficial, I don’t care about this argument}. We talked about zoos, and animal sanctuaries, rainforests, oh my goodness. Maybe it wasn’t a “quick” lesson after all. After that we read some nature oriented books and called it quits. We didn’t cover much plant life, so that’s on deck for today.
 • If you bought a diaper it’s being sent out on Saturday, I know that’s a wait but it’s the soonest I’ll be able to make it downtown on my own to the post office because the shipping place closer charges arms and legs and butts. If you still haven’t received an invoice, I still haven’t received your email address to send it. I’ve shut the post down, and I’m just hanging onto the rest for now.
 • My SIL is being induced today and I am on pins and needles. *sigh* I hope it all goes well. I hope she’ll be okay and baby will get here safely. I love them. :(
 • Okay, Thaddeus is done nursing so it’s time for school. Not too late a start, so woo!

Why doesn’t mom1 care for Cesar?

He’s too much like me; high strung, sensitive, but I’ve taught him to not back down and when he has feelings, to express them.

She thinks that because he’s not meek and obliging like I am, that he’s being disrespectful to her. She almost always speaks to him with some sort of attitude because of it, so I am often checking her on it. She thinks he needs to be intimidated into being “respectful” when in fact, he is perfectly capable of giving respect to those deserving of it, and IS respectful to her he’s just not going to take her shit. And shouldn’t.

Cloth Diaper Confession:

I have had a Freetime in Audrey that I’ve been hoarding since I bought the last 4.0. Christian insisted that I not sell it, since he has seen so many go through the house, ha! Anyway. I finally prepped it yesterday and he’s wearing it tonight. I guess it will stick around with the diapers that haven’t sold.

Except for that damned FuzziBunz. That’s going with me on Saturday and I’m getting rid of it. Bleh, bleh, bleh.

I feel better but I’m brutally exhausted. I tried to read Severus some books a little earlier and I yawned so much he took them and said; “Forget it, Mama. I ask Caesar to wead ‘dis to me.” I didn’t even argue.
I have got to stop depending on people to get things done. I had so much to do today, and I figured Mom II and Christian would be here so I could leave the kids. But then Mom II woke up sick and canceled and Christian didn’t come over until way late in the afternoon, I didn’t have near enough time to get to where I needed to and back before he had to leave. Today, it really couldn’t have been helped because of all the rain, but from now on I’m just going to get shit done. Period.
My mother has officially embarked upon her trip up here. I have the Great Cloth Diaper Change on Saturday, I was going to take all the boys, and leave the bigger ones with Christian for the time this happens. But, I may just leave Severus and Mercutio behind and bring Caesar since she has the most issue with him. We won’t be gone long, but she does well with those guys.
On the GCDC front, I’m probably putting waaaaay too much thought into which diapers I’m bringing, but in my defense, this is the first {and likely last} time I’ll be able to participate. I’m really looking forward to it.
The ridge of 1/4 erupting top teeth is visible in Thaddeus’ mouth. I can’t wait to see him with more tiny chompers.
More Random: They rolled out New Twitter today and it’s impressive. Sidenote: If you’re not following the #myNYPD tag… do that, terrifying and graphic. {I’m sure not ENTIRELY accurate, but still enlightening.} I somehow stumbled upon this tee shirt from Atheist Republic, and it is on its way to me. Next one I’ll buy will be the “Good Without God” shirt, if I can remember. GuL is being spotlighted {pending approval}, which is mega awesome - such proud. New members will be announced soon - I still hate the process of choosing new teammates, it’s too frickin’ difficult.
Okay bedtime routine is to start, so I must call to the Minions. <3

I thought I’d answer this as publicly as one can answer fanmail, especially since this has been in the inbox for like, a week.
I don’t know if J. purposely keeps her from me, I do know that he and I both share anxiety and have seeeeeeeerious, well deserved, trust issues with one another that have never been rectified.
Samara had a brilliant spring break - she was able to do things she is usually not allowed to do, and I am so grateful for her great grandmother allowing her to contact me when I didn’t know who she was with. I’m literally going to send them a thank you card, they don’t even know. So, really, I don’t have much to complain about.
Additionally, I want my daughter to use her brain, to understand her body, to question and be aware, to be bold and outspoken, I don’t want her under anyone’s thumb, I won’t allow her to be a victim - and that goes against EVERYTHING they are teaching her. I am an Atheist, and they are devout Christians with very right wing leanings.
So, technically, I AM a bad influence. Is that why he’s a doucheknuckle? *shrugs* It wouldn’t surprise me.
